WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DEAL WITH
- we are a major institution providing education in the fields of forestry, gamekeeping, landscape engineering, arboriculture, technical biology of woody species, forestry and wood technology, wood processing and utilisation, and furniture design,
- we deal with research, development and specialist activities in the afore-mentioned areas.
WHAT WE PUT EMPHASIS ON
- freedom of education, where scientific-research plays an important role,
- creative potential, which we also expect of our students,
- enlightenment, this is the way to arouse public interest in the landscape, forests, wood as a renewable resource, ecology, but also in interior design and aesthetic feeling.

WHAT CURRENT TRENDS WE ARE FOLLOWING?
- in forestry – production ecology in the ecosystem concept,
- in landscaping – landscape management as a tool ensuring equilibrium of the cultural landscape while using mainly renewable resources,
- in woodworking and furniture – development of wood-based materials, products and technologies, including energy,
- research in the above fields, focusing on the production and stability of forest ecosystems, the processing and use of wood and other renewable natural resources while maintaining the stability of production in a balanced landscape.
